Lately I've been really interested in cycles of creation and destruction. As I settle into routines, I notice certain cyclical patterns of moods, habits, and activities. I've also been trying to clear the clutter from the house in order to clear the clutter from my mind. With these two thoughts in mind, I realized there are lots of paintings around the house from school that just aren't relevant to me anymore. For example, this one is called "the big discussion" and I painted it after riding the BC bus and hearing sorority types blather on about nothing endlessly.

So as a little experiment, I cut up some old paintings into strips, then used a new set of stretcher bars as a frame to weave them. Here is the "after" shot. I'm pleased with the results, and see a lot of possibilities for experimentation with the woven pattern. I just hope that
somebody's mother didn't make this for her dog MONTHS ago. (I love how indignant that person is.)
