Progress: Being Made

My contractor started this week, and so far has cleaned the walls and stripped all the bubbly/charred woodwork. It might take a little while for me to get back up here, but it's putting my mind to rest just knowing that the work has been started.

In the meantime, I've been plugging away at the latch-hook terror alert level rug. The orange part is all done, but a lot of the yarn is on backorder. You wouldn't beleive how hard it is to find this stuff! I guess latch-hooking is SO 1980's.
Also, I've got myself set up to do some screen printing in the basement, and it's so fun! As Chris says, "you make a painting, then it's done, and you're like, damn, i need to do another one. with screenprinting, you make one, and then you think - hey! i can make 100 more!".

I printed three paper grocery bags with the word guilt. I have a lot of guilt, so much that people often ask me if I was raised Catholic. (I wasn't) So I'm writing down everything I feel guilty about and putting them in the bags, then sewing them closed and sealing them closed with gloss gel. The piece is called "Stuff your sorries in a sack".
